The NRC’s environmental review is described in site-specific supplements to the NRC’s “Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Power Plants,” (NUREG “Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants,” NUREG– (the “ GEIS”). As stated in the final rule that incorporated the findings of the GEIS in 10 CFR P the NRC recognized that environmental impact issues might change over time, and that additional issues may need to be considered.
